We have been learning how to do Read to Someone. Here are some examples of our practice time.

This is a group of three reading together.

Maddie and Brody sit elbow to elbow knee to knee (EEKK).

One person reads an open page and then ...

...says "Check for understanding." Their partner retells what they heard.

If they get stuck on a word, the partner gives time and asks if they need help.

Then the other partner gets a chance to read. Read to Someone helps kids gain confidence, grow in fluency, and have fun reading!
